I have always liked black lipstick. I think it looks beautiful and sultry against brown skin. While it could be a bit goth to some, I actually think its beautiful and adaptable. Black lipstick can serve both terror and romance depending on how you compliment it with the rest of your face.
My mom and those of her generation have a natural aversion to the color. For them lips should look nice and pink or just have a touch of gloss. I have no problem with that preference, but limiting yourself is whack AF in my honest opinion. Live!!!
My recommendation for a great black lip that is matte and long lasting is Joy Lorraine Cosmetics' "Black Cat." The liquid formula dries down pretty quickly and can be a great base for gloss and even glitter. Makeup remover does the trick to get it off the lips.
